Week 8 marked a pivotal moment for Barron Collier Boys Lacrosse as the team wrapped up the regular season with determination and impressive performances. This final stretch showcased the Cougars’ resilience, skill, and team spirit, setting a solid foundation for the upcoming postseason. The week featured a strong away game against Fort Myers High School, a memorable Senior Night at home versus Bishop Verot, and the final regular-season home game against Pine Crest High School, highlighting both individual achievements and collective effort.

Varsity Game at Fort Myers High School


The Cougars began Week 8 on the road and in the rain, facing Fort Myers High School in a game that tested their offensive capabilities. Barron Collier came out with an aggressive approach, pushing the pace and maintaining disciplined ball movement. This strategy created multiple scoring chances and kept the pressure on the opposing defense. The final score was Cougars 13 and Fort Myers 10.


Jacob Shanahan stood out as the player of the game with an exceptional offensive display. He scored 6 goals and added 1 assist, demonstrating his ability to find open space and finish under pressure. His performance energized the team and helped maintain momentum throughout the match. This victory away from home reinforced the team’s confidence and showed their readiness for the challenges ahead.


Senior Night Celebration Against Bishop Verot


Returning home for Senior Night brought a special energy to the Barron Collier community. The program honored 12 seniors and their families, recognizing their dedication and contributions over the years. The event was a celebration of commitment, growth, and the lasting impact these players have had on the team.


The Junior Varsity squad played their final game of the season against Bishop Verot with determination. Although they fell short in the scoreline, their effort and progress throughout the season laid a strong foundation for future success.


The Varsity team followed with a commanding performance, securing a win (16-11) that capped off Senior Night in style. The Cougars controlled the game’s pace, showing focus and teamwork on both offense and defense.


Jordan Cross earned player of the game honors with a dominant all-around effort. He finished with 4 goals and 3 assists, contributing significantly to the team’s victory. His ability to create opportunities and support teammates was evident throughout the match.

Final Regular Season Against Pine Crest


The Cougars closed out the regular season at home against a very strong Pine Crest team. Facing one of the toughest opponents on their schedule, Barron Collier battled throughout, continuing to compete and execute against high-level competition.


Cole Turner stood out as the player of the game in an exceptional performance to close out the regular season, recording 3 goals and 2 assists. His offensive production and ability to create opportunities for teammates highlighted his impact on the field and showcased the bright future he brings to the Barron Collier Lacrosse program.


Games like this provide valuable experience and preparation as the Cougars look ahead to postseason play, reinforcing the importance of discipline, teamwork, and consistency.


Closing the Regular Season


As the regular season comes to an end, this team has shown growth, toughness, and a commitment to one another that goes beyond the scoreboard. From standout individual performances to team-building moments to leadership from the senior class, the Cougars have laid a strong foundation for the future.


With postseason play on the horizon, Barron Collier Lacrosse is focused on continuing to improve, compete, and represent the program with pride. The first post-season test will be a rematch against Naples High School on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at home. Come out and support the team.
