The Barron Collier Lacrosse community gathered recently for a lively and successful Player and Parent Meet & Greet event at Shae's Lansdowne. Sponsored by the Booster Club, this event brought together players, parents, and volunteers to celebrate the upcoming 2025-2026 lacrosse season. It also opened the door for meaningful conversations about volunteer roles and fundraising opportunities that will support the team throughout the year.

A Warm Welcome and Community Spirit
The event kicked off with a warm welcome from the Booster Club representatives who expressed their excitement for the new season. Parents and players mingled in a relaxed atmosphere, sharing stories from past seasons and hopes for the future. The venue, Shae's Lansdowne, provided a perfect casual setting with plenty of space for conversations and refreshments.
This gathering was more than just a social event. It was a chance to build stronger connections within the lacrosse community. Parents met coaches and team leaders, while players got to know their teammates better off the field. This foundation of trust and camaraderie is essential for a successful season.
Volunteer Opportunities That Make a Difference
One of the key focuses of the meet and greet was to highlight the many ways parents and community members can get involved. The Booster Club emphasized that volunteer support is crucial for the team’s success. Here are some of the main volunteer roles discussed:
Game Day Helpers

Fundraising Coordinators
Organizing events and campaigns to raise funds for team gear, travel, and tournaments.

Volunteering not only supports the team but also strengthens the community by bringing people together around a shared passion. Several parents signed up on the spot, showing strong enthusiasm to contribute.
Fundraising Plans to Support the Team
Raising funds is a continuous effort for the Booster Club, and the meet and greet was an ideal platform to introduce upcoming fundraising initiatives. The club shared plans for several creative and engaging activities designed to bring in support while having fun:
Concessions at Home Games
Players and volunteers will team up to offer car washes in local neighborhoods.
Merchandise Sales
Selling team-branded apparel and accessories to fans and families.
Local Business Partnerships
Collaborating with nearby businesses for sponsorships and special promotions.
These efforts aim to cover costs such as new equipment, travel expenses for away games, meals, and celebration activities. The Booster Club encouraged everyone to think creatively about fundraising ideas and to get involved early.

Building a Stronger Team Together
The meet and greet also featured an opportunity to meet all of our coaches. Coaches shared insights on player development and emphasized the importance of conditioning, teamwork and sportsmanship.
Parents appreciated the transparency and felt more connected to the team’s mission. Many expressed eagerness to support not only through volunteering and fundraising but also by encouraging their children’s growth in the sport.
